Machine Designers

Job Responsibilities:

Vertical Forestry is working to create products that are natural and intuitive to use within our target markets. The design of forestry equipment requires great technical engineering skills, but because our customers interact directly with the natural world, there is a high demand for engineers with an intuitive grasp of forestry and arboricultural applications. You’ll know if we are talking to you!

What You'll Do:

Model machine components in SolidWorks
Calculate and model loading conditions and use FEA to study different loading conditions
Work with other engineers to focus on specific subsystems and select components for those systems.
Understand the terrain and conditions present in the jobsite and work to maximize the efficiency of the product for those conditions
Follow an iterative design process for product development in which production costs also play a part in design
Create final shop drawings for production.

Must Have:

At least 5 years’ experience in equipment design
5 years engineering experience
Strong attention to detail
At least 5 years of experience in Forestry or Arboriculture
Strong interest in helping others
Ability to communicate effectively
